Julie grew up in the Pacific Northwest. In 1998 she actively pursued knowledge of wild flowers, including identification and learning their Botanical names.  She decided to follow her passion for plants and returned to school in Washington State, where she received a Certificate of Landscape Design and Horticulture.

After receiving her certifications, Julie spent the following 5 1/2 years as the lead landscape designer with a design firm in Seattle, Washington. During her time in Seattle she designed and installed over 50 landscapes and participated in four Northwest Flower and Garden Shows.

In May 2006, Julie moved to Boulder and worked as a landscape designer there. She spent the next year and a half learning about the landscape of Boulder and surrounding areas.

In the beginning of 2008 she decided it was time to go out on her own and started indigo landscape design.

As a resident of Boulder, Julie has become deeply involved with the Boulder Green Building Guild, organizing the largest fundraiser to date for the Guild as the Events Committee Chair and served on the Board of Directors for two years.

In her free time she enjoys climbing, skiing, hiking and road biking.
